Minnesota State University, Mankato awarded 1,772 degrees to 1,617 students at the end of the fall 2023 semester, with commencement ceremonies Dec. 9 in Taylor Center’s Bresnan Arena on the Minnesota State Mankato campus.
Former Becker student, Kristopher Plath, BS, Medical Lab Science was one of the recipients.
Fromer Big Lake students, Sydney Anderson, GC, Taxation, MACC, Accounting was named as well as Kayla Donais, BS, Management; Zora Nehwah, BS, Alcohol & Drug Studies, Magna Cum Laude and Roxanne Watkins, BS, Psychology.
Former Clear Laker, Benjamin Cencer, BS, Aviation also received the honor.
Advanced degrees awarded by Minnesota State Mankato at the conclusion of the fall semester included four doctor of education degrees, six doctor of nursing practice degrees and one doctor of school psychology degrees.
Graduate degrees awarded included 37 master of arts degrees, ten master of accounting degrees, ten master of arts in teaching degrees, 13 master of business administration degrees, four master of fine arts degrees, 202 master of science degrees, 30 master of social work degrees, three professional science master’s degrees, 33 specialist in educational leadership degrees and 69 graduate certificates.
Degrees awarded at the undergraduate level included 29 bachelor of arts degrees, 20 bachelor of business degrees, one bachelor of computer application development degree, 14 bachelor of fine arts degrees, 1,099 bachelor of science degrees, 25 bachelor of science in integrated engineering degrees, two bachelor of science in civil engineering degrees, four bachelor of science in computer engineering degrees, three bachelor of science in electrical engineering degrees, 15 bachelor of science in mechanical engineering degrees, 32 bachelor of science in social work degrees, 32 associate of arts degrees and 74 undergraduate certificates.
Undergraduate students receiving recognition included 270 students graduating summa cum laude (3.8 grade point average and higher), 176 students graduating magna cum laude (grade point averages of 3.6 to 3.79) and 207 students graduating cum laude (grade point averages of 3.4 to 3.59).
