The Becker Community Center was filled with people dressed in their finest last Friday, as 193 fathers and daughters created memories together at the center’s annual Father Daughter Dance.
Fathers came in dress shirts, suits and ties, escorting their daughters who were attired in fancy dresses in a rainbow of colors. One little girl, Valencia Slavnic, who came with her father, Dusko, even had a hoopskirt and gloves. Many of the girls had corsages, with one of them, Emma Norton, wearing one that was handmade by her mother. She attended the dance with her father, Dustin.
Before the dance began, guests enjoyed salad, pasta and breadsticks. Tables were decorated in a Valentine’s theme, with red, pink and white balloons floating above.
Throughout the dinner, members of the Becker Boy Scout Troop 92 were kept busy busing the tables. They also helped clean up after the evening had concluded.
The dance began with fathers and daughters crowding the dance floor, showing their moves to a wide variety of music. Throughout the evening the DJ had them bopping around energetically, participating in silly dances and swaying to slow songs, with many of the younger girls carried by their fathers.
A professional photographer was on hand to help capture the evening.
