There are a number of opportunities for area residents Monday to remember their deceased veterans.
At 9 a.m. the Clearwater American Legion Post 323 and Clear Lake Legion Post 354 color guards will be at St. Marcus Cemetery in Clear Lake. At 9:15 a.m., both guards will be at the Clear Lake Cemetery on Hwy. 10.
At 9:45 the Clearwater color guard will be at Highland cemetery in Hasty. From there they will travel to three Clearwater cemeteries - Mt. Hope Cemetery at 10 a.m.; St. Luke’s Cemetery at 10:15 a.m. and Acacia Cemetery at 10:30 a.m.
At 11 a.m., the Clearwater Legion will have a short program.
In Becker, Legion Post 193 will hold their first service at 8:30 a.m. at the Elk River Bridge on Co. Rd. 24; a second service will be at 9 a.m. at Snake River Cemetery; a third service at 9:30 a.m. at Santiago Cemetery (Reeds).
At 10 a.m., they will be at South Santiago Lutheran Cemetery; at 10:30 a.m, they will be at Danetown Cemetery. And at 11 a.m., they will conclude with a trip to the Becker Cemetery.
Following the services, they will host their Memorial Day turkey and ham dinner at the Becker Community Center. Serving is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
All veterans, with proof of service, will get the dinner for $5.
