BECKER MAYOR LEFTY KLEIS responded to Dennis Carlson’s comments during last Saturday’s Meet-with-the-Mayor forum at Kolbinger Park.

Meet With The Mayor Held Saturday

Looking to establish a more open forum for discussion, Becker Mayor Lefty Kleis again hosted a monthly “Meet-and-Greet” for the community at Kolbinger Park last Saturday.

Coffee and rolls were served as about a dozen or so concerned citizens from the area sat in a round table version of a meeting to discuss issues they have about the city and share ideas.

One of those citizens chatting with the mayor  was Dennis Carlson — who at times has shown up at council meetings to share his thoughts and concerns — mostly centering around Pebble Creek Golf Course. Carlson is an avid golfer and former organizer of the area’s old duffer’s league.

Carlson has also been an ardent “Letter to the Editor” correspondent discussing such topics as the golf course, city budgets and the way the city is being run by elected officials.

Others at the Meet the Mayor forum were John Reibel, Bill Johnson and Adam Maskowski, among others. Kleis and his wife, Lisa sat and listened and responded when referred to.

Kleis holds a monthly “Meet-with-the-Mayor” function at locations throughout the city including Ellis Bakery, Jimmy’s Pizza, Gily’s, Coffee Cup and Cafe Pawz.
