May is Foster Care Appreciation Month

May is Foster Care Appreciation month and Wright County Health and Human Services would like to acknowledge the dedication of their foster care providers for their care and compassion of those in need.

Wright County currently has 51 foster care providers supporting the ongoing need of children within their communities. They encourage community members to recognize the valuable work that Wright County’s child foster providers do.

With May being Foster Care Appreciation month, they are also raising the awareness for the need of additional child foster care homes within the Wright County communities. Wright County averages 75 youth in placement nightly. While 78% of the time, children can be placed with family/kin they are always in need of non-relative families to be ready to help.

Those interested in learning more about becoming a child foster care provider are invited to attend their next orientation meeting on Mon., July 7 or Mon., August 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Wright County Government Center located at 3650 Braddock Ave NE, Buffalo MN, room 1103.
