A two-vehicle crash south of Clearwater Saturday caused one of the men involved to be airlifted by helicopter to the St. Cloud Hospital with multiple nonlife-threatening injuries.
The incident occurred on State Hwy. 24 south of 148th Street shortly before 9:30 a.m. A red Dodge Ram driven by Brad Fobbe of Annandale was traveling south on the highway when a white Dodge Ram heading north driven by Brian Soholt of Shell Lake, Wisconsin crossed over the center line and hit Fobbe’s pickup.
Although he attempted, Fobbe was unable to avoid the crash and both vehicles came to rest in the ditch.
The impact of the crash left a portion of Soholt’s pickup embedded in the red pickup, and a large portion of the rest of the vehicle demolished. Emergency personnel on-scene needed to cut Soholt out of the wreckage, after which he was airlifted to the St. Cloud Hospital with multiple, nonlife-threatening injuries.
Fobbe and his passenger were uninjured. Alcohol was not involved in the crash.
