Oohs and aahs and lots of laughter filled the air when Magician Nathan Stockwell visited the Becker Library Tuesday to help kick off the summer reading program.
Like every great magician, Stockwell had plenty of tricks up his sleeve, including some impressive card tricks and making items appear and disappear. Several young audience members were invited up to participate during the show, which even included an appearance by his elusive pet raccoon, Rocky.
The show was a fitting beginning to the summer reading program’s theme, “It’s Showtime at Your Local Library,” and was one of many exciting events the Becker Library has planned throughout the summer.
‘The Big Fun Show’ with one-man circus Dave Walbridge kicked off the Clearwater Library’s summer reading program on Wednesday.
The Becker and Clearwater Libraries have lots of fun, family-friendly events and activities happening during this year’s summer reading program, which runs through August 10 and is available for children 0-12 and teens in grades 6-12.
Prizes will be given out as reading logs are completed, with grand prizes awarded at the program’s conclusion in August.
