Lynden Twp Revises Conditional Use Permit Reocation Procedure

On the agenda for Lynden Township’s Jan. meeting was their spring newsletter, their conditional use permit revocation procedure revision, and work done on Ditch 39 by Stearns County.

Stearns County
A discussion was held regarding the work done by Stearns County on Ditch 39 and the financial assessment that was applied to the benefitting property owners. Although there was no notice given to the property owners, financial issues or complaints need to be handled through Stearns County. Jim Voigt, who has property along Ditch 39 and who attended the meeting, was asked to write an article on the topic for the township’s upcoming newsletter.

Lynden Newsletter
Karolyn Boucher and the Board reviewed potential articles for the annual spring newsletter. The deadline for submitting articles for the spring newsletter is Feb. 17, and Boucher has contacted Rengel Printing for pricing quotes. The newsletter will be submitted to the printer on Feb. 23 and mailed out on Feb. 29.

Conditional Use Permit
Resolution 2015-2 was passed at the Dec. 2015 Township meeting, however based on the recommendation of Township Attorney Michael Couri the board must revise the resolution in order to follow Stearns County’s conditional use permit revocation procedure. A  motion was passed to approve Resolution 2016-1, a resolution setting a public hearing to consider revocation of the conditional use permit issued to Valorie Muggli (LaBeau) for operation of a commercial kennel. Couri will send notice to Muggli (LaBeau) and the adjacent property owners. Clerk Jenny Schmidt will send notice of publication and post the same at the town hall. A planning commission and township board public hearing on this matter was set for Jan. 25 at 7 p.m.

Other Business
Treasurer Karen Weeres said she was prepared to administratively combine accounts as had been directed at the 2015 annual meeting. A motion was made and passed to close the savings account at Annandale State Bank and deposit the funds into the checking account at Annandale State Bank.

Town hall renters have reported the hot water isn’t working and the lock on the restroom door doesn’t lock. Supervisor Jerry Finch will review and follow up.

Building permits were reviewed and outstanding bills were reviewed and authorized for payment.
