Spring has sprung!
It’s time to see what’s growin’ at the library. Locally Growin’, Great River Regional Library’s (GRRL) fundraising campaign runs Tues., April 1, through Wed., April 30, 2025. This year, the fundraiser will be held in April instead of March to align with Library Giving Day (April 1) and National Library Week (April 6-12).
The library’s Locally Growin’ campaign keeps donations 100 percent within the branch library of the donor’s choosing. Each library selects a specific “wish” item and a campaign goal. Over $27,000 was raised around the region in 2024 to support a wide variety of goals. Each library’s goal is unique and focuses on its community’s interests and needs.
GRRL’s southern library locations are raising money for the following this year:
• Kimball wishes for exploration station items;
• Becker wishes to add decodable books to their collection;
• Big Lake wishes to add Playaways and audio read-along books to their collection;
• Annandale wishes for an exploration station;
• Buffalo wishes to add Play2Learn toy kits and audiobook read-alongs to their collection;
• Monticello wishes to add an exploration station light table set and kids’ graphic novel series to their collection;
• Elk River wishes for STEM exploration station items;
• St. Michael wishes for an exploration station light table set;
• Cokato wishes to add audiobook read-alongs to their collection;
• Howard Lake wishes to add Try It Yourself hobby kits to their collection;
• Rockford wishes to add Playaways and audiobook read-alongs to their collection;
• Delano wishes to add Playaways and Try It Yourself pickleball kits to their collection.
These are just a few of the libraries’ wishes across their six-county region. Stop by to learn what is growin’ at any local library! One can learn more about the Locally Growin’ campaign and make a difference at one’s library or by giving online at griver.org/locally-growin.
