Monticello RV Center has announced their first annual “Local Heroes Days” to be held at their new facility in Monticello. The event will be held for three days of Thursday, Friday and Saturday August 19, 20 and 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

The “Local Heroes Days” event will be held to honor local heroes including law enforcement, firefighters, first responders, past and present military, educatiors and medical workers. This is not a sales event. Monticello RV Center will not be open for business during these days. This will allow the staff to focus exclusively on the heroes event. This will be a community event with free admission.

The purpose of “Local Heroes Days” is to showcase local heroes and have representatives and vehicles (new and old) from each group at the facility for engagement and interaction with the public. The front area of the sales lot will be cleared of RV campers and replaced with heroes’ vehicles for the public to view. There will be booths set up inside the dealership so that heroes groups can have information regarding their various entities (police dept., fire dept., etc.), their structure and purpose available for attendees. This will allow the public to become more educated about all these groups do to serve the community.

Each day during the event there will be free food and beverages for the public. Hamburgers, brats, chips, sweet corn, and beverages will be on the menu. Root Beer floats will also be available. Officers participating in the event will have coupons for free root beer floats. Youths who meet and talk with the officers will be given a coupon upon request.

Monticello RV Center will be coordinating with their vendors and other comunity businesses to collect prizes  to be given out to the heroes who attend the event. There will be a separate drawing for prizes for the general public. Additionally, a limited number of T-shirts will be given out to the heroes who attend the event.

“This is a great opportunity for our community to show support for our local heroes,” stated Scott Kunz, owner of Monticallo RV Center. “these people all work beyond their pay grade. We are grateful to have the venue to host and honor these local heroes at a community event of this nature.”

Anyone who has an old “hero” vehicle they would like to bring out to display at this community event, or those who would like to help participate in some way, should please contact Scott Kunz at Monticello RV Center by calling 763-567-0673, emailing Scott@MontiRV.com, or visiting www.LocalHeroesDays.com.
