TO THE EDITOR:
Petition signatures needed! Wright Co. Commissioners made a crucial decision on April 30. By a 4-1 vote (opposed by District 5 Commissioner Charlie Borrell), they decided to continue the process of spending money - up to 60 million dollars plus interest on 25-year bonds. Immediate plans are to build a new Government Center and law enforcement training facility and close the courthouse in downtown Buffalo.
Should county residents responsible for paying have the opportunity to vote? A public vote is possible if a petition of 3,000 signatures is filed with the County Auditor by May 30. Much help is needed to acquire so many signatures in the short time.
A "Petition to Bring the Building to a Vote By the People" is already written. People willing to sign and/or assist in getting signatures from other eligible county voters should phone one of the following numbers: 320-286-3076, 612-201-2394, or 763-682-1926.
Your immediate involvement is appreciated.
