Lemonade stand garners $100+ for BLPD

Five amazing young Big Lake residents recently hosted a lemonade stand, where they also sold homemade bracelets with a goal of raising funds to donate to the Big Lake Police Dept.   Below is what was written by Katie Gill;

“My kids, along with several of the neighborhood kids had a lemonade and bracelet stand today and raised $101 for the Big Lake Police Dept.” said one mom, Katie Gill. “Our great friends and neighbor’s daughter, Kayden loves to make the bracelets and had an over abundance of them. I told her she should sell them.”

Kayden said, “okay, then I’ll donate the money to the Big Lake Police Dept. because they have had a hard time and they protect us.”

Kayden then proceeded to round up all of the younger kids into putting on this sale, explaining to them why they were donating the money.

BLPD Sgt. Tom Kucala was honored over the weekend and stopped by to accept these funds.  The money will be dedicated to a fund with the purpose of ensuring BLPD’s officers safety.

“Thank you so much,” said Police Chief Joel Scharf.    “It’s amazing to see the heart and spirit of our up and coming Big Lake leaders!”
