Legal Aid’s Project Care is pleased to introduce a monthly informational series called Because Your Health Matters: The Expected, The Unexpected and Everything In Between. Each month, certified healthcare navigators will provide information on healthcare related topics to help the community access the coverage they need at this critical time.

Not only has the current health crisis heightened the need for affordable coverage, it has limited everyone’s ability to get information about coverage options. Legal Aid’s Project Care, which serves 12 Central Minnesota counties, is turning to social media to get this information to the people who need it. Each month a Navigator will present information on a specific topic, answer related questions, and provide information on how to get free, individual assistance in getting affordable healthcare coverage. Every topic will be presented in English on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, and in Somali and Spanish on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.

In August, Project Care will focus on Minnesota’s new Insulin Affordability Program. Join us to learn what the program is, where to apply, and how the program can help make insulin affordable for those struggling with the cost of their current prescriptions. The presentation will discuss both the emergency part of the program and the on-going coverage available.
