The Region 7 Regional Knowledge Bowl tournament was held March 18 at Celebration Lutheran Church.  Eighteen teams competed in a written test and five oral rounds. Six teams will advance to the State Knowledge Bowl meet on Wednesday and Thursday, April 10 and 11, 2019 at Cragun’s, Brainerd.

 

Winning teams are: St.  John’s Preparatory School (Charles Miller - Coach, Jen Daiker - Coach, Cormac Smith, Tina Chen, Caitlin Skahen, Hanna Haeg and Lukas Uhlenkamp); East Cenntral High School (Paul Stenberg - Coach, Craig Feist, Madison Nelson, Nick Shaffer, Joe Sewell and Emma Jansen); St. Cloud Cathedral (Bob Lahr - Coach, John Watry - Coach, Losha Schreifels, Riah Lee, Michael Roste and John Banks); Annandale High School (Tom Westman - Coach, Wendy Douglas - Coach, Audrey Douglas, Isaac Herrmann, Jonah Johannes, Dane Larson and James Meuwissen); Elk River High School (Troy McGowan - Coach, Christian Kubicka, Bennett Jordan, Sebastian Santor, Jack Hipsag and Jack Milless); Sartell High School (Luke Walker - Coach, Laura Bakker - Coach, Yash Hindka, Jacob Fandel , Nathan Schmidt, Mo Alkhatib and Janagan Ramanathan).

 

At state, there will be 48 teams divided into two divisions, Class A and Class AA, based upon population.
