Rep. Jim Newberger will be part of a special hearing of the job growth and energy affordability committee next month.
The topic of the hearing will be discussion of the new EPA emissions mandate for Minnesota and the Gov. Mark Dayton Next Generation Energy Act. They will also discuss the effects the act may have on the power industry and the area’s economy.
The committee will be meeting at the Becker Community Center, Mon., Sept. 21 in the main room from 6-8 p.m. All are welcome to the event and those in attendance will be the JGEA Committee, Minnesota State Representatives currently serving on the committee and several are state senators have been invited.
Newberger and the other members will be interested in hearing testimony from all interested parties and discussing the topic at hand. They also plan to hold a press conference before the hearing begins.
