(Editor’s Note: The following article was sequestered from a posting on the Wright County website).

Motorists who are traveling on Interstate 94 for their work commutes noticed Wednesday that work crews are on the job and the result will be lane closures in the coming days, weeks and, in some cases, months.

Starting this week, there will be multiple traffic disruptions that motorists should be aware of. They include the following:

Monticello to Clearwater – I-94 will be reduced to one lane in both directions between Hwys. 25 and 24 from 7 p.m. until 11 a.m. daily with the exception of Saturdays. This will continue through May;

Maple Grove to Rogers – Through Thursday, April 1, eastbound I-94 will be reduced to two lanes between Hwy. 101 and Hwy. 610 and will be reduced to one lane from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly with the exception of Saturday night. Through Wednesday, March 31, eastbound I-94 will be reduced to two lanes between Hwy. 101 and Weaver Lake Road from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.;

St. Michael to Albertville – Through mid-April I-94 will be reduced to a single lane in both directions between west of Co. Rd. 19 and Hwy. 241. Through September, Hwy. 241 will be reduced to a single lane between I-94 and Oakwood Parkway.

A reminder that with the roadwork there will be reduced speeds and fines of up to $300 for speeding in a work zone. Those who use these routes regularly are advised to prepare accordingly for delays and slowdowns.
