The Becker Public School District had a variety of fun happenings this week including dress-up days, coronation, a pep fest and other activities ahead of their homecoming football game Friday night.
Sunday night kicked off this year’s Homecoming week as 11 students were nominated as candidates for this year’s King and Queen.
The young men nominated include Ryan Sommerdorf, Adam Bauman, Jack Conzemius, Tyler Lindquist, Cale MacMillan and Joel Wilson.
The young ladies vying for the coveted crown include Bridget Buchholz, Kami Ziebarth, Julia Abfalter, Daisy Kent, Haley Hubbard and Rachael Tauer.
Monday, the school tabbed the first day of the week as “‘Merica Monday” and encouraged students to come to school that day dressed in their best red, white and blue.
Tuesday was “Inside Out Day” (explanation unnecessary) and students were given the chance to view a video that gave a little more insight into this year’s Homecoming candidates.
Wednesday was “Pajama Day” with the entire student body heading to the booths to vote for their favorite male and female candidates for King and Queen.
Thursday was called “Lake Day” and kids were encouraged to show up at school dressed ready to go to the lake. The Homecoming coronation was Thursday afternoon followed by the pep fest.
Friday was “White Out/Spirit Day” with staff asking student s to arrive at school in their best Bulldog pride apparel. The Powder Puff football game was played between the junior and senior girls at 3:15 p.m. on Eppard Field.
At 7 p.m., Becker hosted Zimmerman for the 2016 Homecoming football game. Following the Bulldog/thunder game, the Homecoming dance was held in the North Commons from 9-11 p.m.
