The Township of Becker intends to replace the culvert spanning the Snake River on 185th Ave. between Co. Rds. 73 and 4 in the near future. The construction commencement has not been determined as yet because the work is weather dependent.
The project site is located on the Snake River, approximately 1,200 feet northeast of the intersection of Co. Rd. 73 and 1,600 feet south of the entrance to Carefree Country Club.
Residents and users of 185th Ave. are being forewarned by township supervisors, the township engineer and the contractor that the roadway will be subject to a complete road closure lasting a minimum of three consecutive working days. As of this week, the project is tentatively scheduled to begin the week of Jan. 13 but may be delayed due to adverse weather conditions.
Traffic control signage will be in place a minimum of 48 hours prior to the commencement of work. Law enforcement and emergency services will be notified of the actual schedule and detours will be posted.
The township, engineer and contractor ask for users of the road and residents along 185th Ave. to be patient while work is bring done to replace the culvert which is severely compromised.
