GRFIA holds “Great is Thy Faithfulness” Gala

Last Saturday at Rockwoods in Otsego, over 240 guests, volunteers, partners, sponsors and supporters of Faith In Action came together to hold a special gala that included a dinner, silent auction, entertainment and a rundown of the organization’s mission.

“This is our largest event to date,” said Executive Director Maureen Baty. “We were able to honor past staff, volunteers and board members as so many people have been a part of Faith in Action over the years.”

The event began with a social hour at 5 p.m., followed by a delicious meal at 6 p.m. Outside the main room were tables set up with dozens of silent auction items up for bid.

Inside the main room, decorated so elegantly, were tables packed with guests and the stage was lit up for a rundown from the organization’s leaders as well as Comedian Daren Streblow’s talents.

“We are so grateful for our amazing community business partners and individuals for supporting us so that we can serve those that need it the most,” said Baty.

GRFIA would like to thank the following sponsors: Platinum: Beaudry Oil; Becker Furniture World; Darter Plastics; JB Group; Northwest Machine and Pellco Machine. About GRFIA

Great River Faith in Action is a volunteer-based, nonprofit located in Becker, Minnesota that serves the elderly and struggling families/individuals in Sherburne County and parts of Wright County. They assist the community by bringing together those that need help and those that are looking to help others. Every community they serve has people that want to help others, and there are naturally people who need help. GRFIA brings them together–without them they may not find each other.

The elderly GRFIA serves want to remain in their homes. GRFIA’s goal is to ensure they are able to do this for as long as it is safely possible. These seniors are looking for rides, light housekeeping, yard work, and home repairs to be done. And, more importantly, as the neighborhood around them becomes younger, they become lonely. When one volunteers through GRFIA, it is not just about getting the task done, but also connecting with them. Volunteers will become the person they look forward to seeing.

Great River Faith in Action is funded through financial donations from churches, businesses, organizations and individuals.

GRFIA is located at 13074 Edgewood St., SE in Becker and their phone number is 763-263-4277. Their website is located at www.grfia.org.
