Grace Lutheran Church is holding two community events this week with one continuing to run through November.

Healing Hearts is a Christ-centered group offering a safe space for support and encouragement following the death of a spouse, child, family member or friend. The group meets Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the church starting this week, Sept. 7 and running through Nov. 30.

Led by caring people who have themselves experienced grief, the Healing Hearts group aims to provide understanding, love and Bible-focused help to rebuild one’s life after loss.

The group is free and open to anyone from the public.

The other free event from Grace Church is their 24th annual Hog and Chicken Roast that will occur this Sunday (Sept. 10) from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event is for all from the area community to enjoy and Rhonda and Allen Metzger will continue to be the event’s faithful BBQ cooks.

Lake’s Gas is providing the propane and Edling Farms will supply the potatoes and corn.

A Car Show will also be held that same day and kid’s activities will also be available for the youngsters. The day begins with a 10 a.m. worship service and the food and fellowship will follow.
