Golf Fundraiser Next Week For Dylan’s Hope Foundation

By Bill Morgan, Staff Writer

The Dylan's Hope Foundation Golf Fundraiser is Fri., Aug. 10 at the Pebble Creek Golf Club. Check-in begins at 10 a.m. and the tournament kicks off at 11 a.m.

The event supports the Dylan's Hope Foundation's efforts to prevent suicide through public awareness and community outreach.

The golf tournament is a 4-person team scramble and participants can enjoy hamburgers and hot dogs before and during the tournament. The cost is $80 per player which includes golf, cart, range balls and the meal.

Prizes will be awarded to the first place team as well as other teams participating. Hole prizes litter the golf course and there are hole-in-one challenges for $20.

Some of the events prizes include a brand new ride provided by Morrie’s Ford in Buffalo. Becker Furniture World has donated a $15,000 furniture shopping spree to the prize pile. There will also be live and silent auctions with all proceeds going to the Dylan’s Hope Foundation.

The Dylan’s Hope Foundation was created out of love in memory of Dylan Britt Aaseby of Becker, who committed suicide in February of 2013 at the age of 17.

The foundation is a local non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention of suicide through public awareness and community outreach. The goal is to educate and increase discussion about suicide prevention and awareness throughout the communities of Minnesota.

The Dylan’s Hope Foundation has supported a variety of mental health initiatives in the Becker area including: scholarships for graduating seniors, funding mental health counselors at the Becker School District, the BHS Wellness Center, brought Nationally Recognized Mental Health Speakers into the School District and Community, sponsoring mental health resource fairs, and families in need of counseling services or other assistance.

Next week’s tournament will be the sixth annual golf fundraiser and the first time it is being held at Pebble Creek.
