Girl Scouts Holding Day Camps, Launch Party In July

The Becker Girl Scouts are hosting their summer day camp again and this year they are opening it up to prospective scouts!

Come enjoy a week of camp, conveniently located at the Becker City Park from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.,  July 22-25.  Camp is open for girls going into kindergarten through fifth grade.

The following day, July 26, the Girl Scouts will also be holding a Daisy Launch party for pre-kindergarten to first grade girls.

K-5th Grade

Campers will enjoy learning camping and survival skills, earning a robotics badge, making and taking home crafts, singing Girl Scout songs, learning and practicing cooking over the fire and of course they will be building community while building their leadership skills and trying new things!

Girls will be in groups  that are within their age range and will participate in a variety of age appropriate activities while getting to know their current or future troop members.

For those who are interested in the day camp or trying out for the Girl Scouts before the fall, register by July 1. To register and for any questions, contact Service Unit Coordinator Jean Schmidt at: girlscouts29@hotmail.com.

K-1st Grade

Is your girl heading off to kindergarten or first grade in the fall?

Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin Lakes and Pines is hosting a party to introduce girls to Girl Scouting. Girls will explore nature and camping, play games, sing songs, and learn about the Girl Scout Promise and Law. Girls earn their very first patch when they complete this program and will receive special gift when they sign-up to be a Girl Scout Daisy.

Join in on the fun and make new friends at the Daisy Launch party at Becker City Park, Wed., June 26, from 4-6 p.m.

Parents and caregivers will learn more about the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and find out about volunteer opportunities. Moms, dads, grandparents, college students, and senior citizens can all be Girl Scout volunteers.

Whether you can give a few hours, a few weeks, or a few months, volunteering with Girl Scouts is flexible and fun.

The sooner one’s girl begins to realize the power in her potential, the sooner she’ll know that no matter how young or small she might think she is, there’s nothing she can’t accomplish – and the scouts are here to help her.
