Garland donates supplies to Cancer Society

(Editor’s Note: The following information was submitted to the Patriot by Matt Flory of the American Cancer Society).

Mike Garland from Becker made another trip to the Twin Cities to donate $1,300 of supplies to the American Cancer Society’s Twin Cities Hope Lodge.

The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge program provides a free home-away-from-home for cancer patients and their caregivers. More than just a roof over their heads, it’s a nurturing community that helps patients access the care they need.

Garland raised funds for these supplies through a recent chili cookoff.  Previous donations have been raised with donated snow plowing, burgers grilled off the back of his truck and a book about his own experience as a cancer survivor.  All told, since 2015 Michael has raised $67,000 for this important cause.
