Friendship Hosts Holiday Party

Although the grand total has yet to be announced, Camp Friendship’s annual holiday fundraising party last Friday was a success, attended by hundreds of guests to raise funds for True Friends.

Hosted by the True Friends - Camp Friendship Auxiliary, the party featured over 130 silent auction baskets, hors ‘d oeuvres and treats, prize drawings, door prizes and 50/50 cash drawings. This year a large standup freezer was donated to the event from Electrolux, which was won by auxiliary member Barb Carnes.

Guests also enjoyed wine, liquor and beer tasting.

The auxiliary is not only in charge of the evening, the members do all the preparations, including decorating, baking and making the hors d’ oeuvres with the help of Camp Friendship. The group, which consists of 35 active members, also spends countless hours soliciting donations from local businesses and creating the baskets for the silent auction.

The Camp Friendship Auxiliary members donate all of the event's proceeds to the nonprofit organization, True Friends, to provide camp scholarships and program support.

The grand total raised by the event will be announced in January.
