Four Women Deserving Of Teachers Of The Year, Two Retiring

June 4, Becker faculty and members of the Becker Education Association  gathered at the Becker Middle School to hold their annual teacher recognition service.
 
Four teachers were named Teacher-of-the Year for each school (high, middle, intermediate and primary) and others were recognized for their many years of service.
 
Natalie Geier (middle school), Maggie Maine (high school), Karen Landsverk (intermediate school) and Erika Snook (primary school) were recognized and also received leadership in educational excellence awards.
 
Two teachers — who will be retiring from education by this time next year — were given plants and recognized for their service to the schools. They are Sharon Meyer and Maria Hed.
 
Nine teachers reached the five year anniversary of their start date and they include Anna Borchardt, Derek Bjornstad, Sarah Yager, Joan Jacobson, Arnold Changamire, Courtney Dawson, Kelly Schreifels, Angela Schultz Beutz and Hillary Johnson.
 
Two teachers reached the 10 year plateau and include Stacy Spindler and Nancy Lorentz.
 
For 15 years, Matt O’Neill, Mike Klassen, Greg Lynch, Corrie Wiechmann, Alexis Nelson-Sivertson, Dennis Yoerg, Nicole Wentland, Jennifer Sapp, Tonja Hanson and Jennifer Obermoller were given certificates.
 
Six teachers were honored for 20 years including Jill Benda, Jill Johnson, Brenda Zierden, Scott Brake, Dan Olson and Paula Pruszinske.
 
For 25 years, Jeff Zimmer was hailed.
