Becker Middle School will be performing an adaptation of the movie Footloose next weekend.

 

Footloose is a 1984 musical drama telling the story of Ren McCormack (played by Kevin Bacon), an upbeat Chicago teen who moves to a small town in which, as a result of the efforts of a local minister (played by John Lithgow), dancing and rock music have been banned.

 

The film was loosely based on actual events that took place in the small, rural, and religious community of Elmore City, OK.

 

BMS’s production is being directed by Greg Lynch and will run Friday (7 p.m.), Saturday (2 p.m. & 7 p.m.) and Sunday (2 p.m.) in the Performing Arts Center (PAC).
