FARM FRIENDS SPORTING CLAY FUNDRAISER had many supporters last year including competitors in the shooting competition at the Wild Marsh Sporting range in Clear Lake.

Farm Friends Project To Host Clay Shoot

The Farm Friends Barn Project will host a Sporting Clay Fundraiser at the Wild Marsh Sporting Clays range in Clear Lake Thurs., Sept. 10.  The project is raising funds to build a barn which will serve as an agricultural education exhibit for children, giving them “hands-on” experience in the agricultural process that begins on the farm and ends in the marketplace.

Registration for the clay shoot will be 2–3p.m., with competition shooting beginning at 3 p.m. sharp.  Cost for a four-person team is $400, and includes 50 targets.

There will be a social hour with cash bar at Jack & Jim’s in Duelm beginning at 4 p.m., followed by a banquet dinner at 5:50 p.m.  The social hour and dinner are open to the public, with dinner-only tickets available for $25 each.  The event will include a raffle for a Stihl® chain saw for $5 per ticket, and an iPad® drawing for $20 per chance with 52 tickets sold.  There will also be a silent auction during dinner, and awards will be presented at 6  p.m.

Sponsorship opportunities are available, with a Platinum Sponsorship of $1,000 gaining entry for a four-person team, company logo displayed on the sponsorship banner, recognition on the Farm Friends barn website and a plaque presented at the dinner.  A Gold Sponsorship of $500 includes a logo on the banner, mention on the website and recognition during the dinner.

Wild Marsh Sporting Clays, Inc. is located at 13481 Co. Rd. 3 S.E. in Clear Lake, MN 55319, and Jack & Jim’s is located at 11025 Duelm Rd. N.E. in Foley, MN 56329.

Other fund-raising efforts for the Farm Friends Barn Project will include a booth at the park on Palmer Day Sat., Sept. 12, featuring cookies and caramel rolls from the Ellis bakery from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the group will be selling their “famous roast beef sandwiches” at Minnesota Forestry Day on Sat., Oct. 10 at the Baldwin Township Hall, according to FFB Chairperson Jean Johnson.
