Becker city has numerous projects underway, including two expansion and one new business added to the Business Park this year.
TJ Potter Trucking
TJ Potter is under construction with a new 54,000 sq. ft. warehouse in the Becker Business Park.
The Potters purchased a “shovel-ready” lot of approximately 10 acres from the City of Becker recently. As the TJ Potter Trucking business grows, they were in need for additional warehousing space. TJ Potter closed on the property April 23 and is underway with their expansion.
TJ Potter was founded in 1984 by Todd & Barb Potter with just one truck and a strong desire to succeed. Through years of dedication to customer service and hard work, they have grown into a well established trucking company that provides dependable, on-time delivery and door-to-door service.
“TJ Potter Trucking has been a fantastic business partner within the community and I couldn’t be more excited to see their business grow,” said Community Development Director Marie Pflipsen.
Stolt Trucking
Stolt Trucking is under construction with a new 12,000 sq. ft. shop to be the home to their new electric fleet.
Owner Brad Stolt currently operates a custom hauling business in the Business Park. He recently purchased five acres from Xcel Energy to construct the new shop for expansion which will be the home for his new electrified semi fleet.
Stolt Trucking started construction in early 2020 and the new building is coming along great!
Stolt Trucking started as one little blue truck 15 years ago, making runs around St. Cloud and the Twin Cities area. Six years ago they moved from St. Cloud to Becker because they “were running out of space.”
Most of what Stolt hauls is classified as industrial waste. They use flat beds, van and live bottom trailers, plus roll off truck service. They make daily trips to the Twin Cities supporting a variety of clients. Their team works seven days a week with office and shop operating five days a week.
“How cool?” exclaimed Pflipsen. “An electric semi hauling business next to a coal powered generating plant! We are very excited to see Stolt’s business grow.”
G&M Outdoor
G&M Outdoor Services, co-owned by brother and sister, Garrett and Marlena Williams, was originally operating in the Big Lake and Monticello areas. As the company has grown, they were looking for a site to call home for their booming business.
“We were able to find something within our budget in Becker that matched our businesses zoning needs vs Big Lake & Monticello,” said Marlena.
G&M Outdoor Services purchased a 3.19 acre lot next to the Becker Furniture World Warehouse in the Business Park.
“We have bought raw land from the Huesby family and will be building an office and shop within the year,” Marlena said.
G&M Outdoor Services is locally-owned and offers everything from residential to commercial landscape installation/maintenance, excavating, lawn maintenance and snow removal. They are fully insured and guarantee their work with prompt and professional service. They have been in this line of business for 7+ years and their website is: www.gmoutdoorservices.net. They employ 10 local workers.
“We are always hiring motivated and hardworking individuals to join our growing team,” said Marlena, who also acts as G& M’s office administrator.
“We are booked out until mid-July with 3 full crews.”
The Williams’ said they had a great working relationship with the City of Becker in regards to their move. It was a 4+ month process to ensure zoning regulations, convenents, approval from council, etc.
“Marie (Pflipsen) and Jacob (Sanders) have been great to work with,” Marlena said. “There’s been a high level of communication from the city, any and all questions were answered immediately during the process.”
“They are very ambitious and you can tell they have a true passion for their work,” said Pflipsen. “I am SO excited to welcome them to the Becker Business Park.”
