Easter Bunny Hops Into Becker For Breakfast

A beautiful sunny day with moderate temperatures did not discourage area youngsters  and their parents from taking part in the annual “Breakfast with the Easter Bunny” at the Becker Community Center Saturday morning.

After enjoying the traditional breakfast of eggs, pancakes, sausage and juice served by members of the Becker Lions Club, a regular stream of youngsters and their parents lined up for a few minutes with the giant white rabbit and pose for a photo. The bunny’s assistant handed out some early Easter candy treats after the kids chatted and petted the furry long-eared mammal.

While most of the youngsters were anxious to see the great white rabbit and get up close and personal, a few of the younger ones turned their backs and cowered into mom or dad’s arms as they approached the nearly six-foot creature.

Many of the kids returned to their designated tables and grabbed their supplied crayons and markers and colored some festive Easter-themed printouts provided by the staff at the BCC.

The gymnasium at the BCC accommodates up to 250 people and Saturday’s crowd was near capacity as people traveled from all over the area to Becker to catch a glimpse of the Easter Bunny and fill their tummies as well.

Cost for the breakfast was $5 per person or $20 per family.
