Oakwood Community Church in Becker held their 10th annual Drive Thru Nativity last Friday and Saturday evenings. Held in the Becker Furniture World parking lot, the popular event featured pivotal scenes from the story of Jesus’ birth.
The Nativity story was brought to life by Pastor Gerry Bass and Oakwood Church congregants dressed in period clothing to play the parts of the Nativity’s starring characters, including Mary, Joseph, King Herod, shepherds and wisemen.
The event was again well-attended with guests, including Mayor Tracy Bertram, a newborn infant and a 90 year-old, lined up seven cars at a time to hear about the real meaning of the season.
“One woman came through weeping as she had never heard the Christmas story before,” said Sarah Bass. “With the amazing weather and everyone with us ready to serve and minister it was a great time sharing about our Lord and savior.”
At the end of their Nativity journey guests were treated to refreshments and heartfelt Christmas blessings.
