Dollipops Entertain Kids At Cw Library

The Clearwater Library was filled with music and laughter last Thursday thanks to the talent of the sister act - the Dollipops.

Dolli and Pop, a duo of professional entertainers, have spent years singing and dancing across the U.S. More recently, they have performed at libraries across Minnesota.

Last week, before a crowd of about 45 kids, parents and grandparents, the sisters danced, sang, told jokes and expanded the imagination of everyone at the library.

Travelling all the way from “Sweet Tart City,” the sisters got the kids to interact with their songs and dances. After asking some of the kids their names, they did the “Name Game” song.

They followed with popular kids’ pop tunes from feature films like Frozen. Then they told stories about some of the places they’ve visited.
After talking about the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, they engaged the kids by forming their own rock band, complete with guitars, keyboard and drums. Then they all joined in as the band played some rock classics.

The parents and grandparents had a good time too, watching their kids’ smiling faces and encouraging them to take part in the activities.
Even after the show, kids wandered backstage to talk with Dolli and Pop.

Thursday’s show was just one of many programs coming to the Clearwater Library. Tuesday (July 9), it’s “Showtime with Joan,” another interactive program where Joan Jacobson will share a story and help kids get creative with an art project. The show starts at 11 a.m.

July 16, (3:30 p.m.) the library presents “The Bug Guy.” Author of the “Minnesota Bug Hunt” Bruce Giebink presents a unique hands-on educational program that features a wide assortment of living and preserved insects and related arthropods. Kids can learn all about the creepy crawlers with the Bug Guy, a Legacy event.
