Do you have ambition? Creative? Looking for an opportunity to educate local youth?

The Farm Friends Barn (FFB) Board of Directors is looking to expand the educational features of the Barn and is looking for three to five area community members to serve on the recently established Education Committee.

The purpose will be to create educational, interactive, and interpretative displays of various farm activities.  FFB envisions up to 10 distinct topics such as harvesting, planting, animals, etc. that would be contained in five stalls within the barn and be geared for both children and adults.  The topics would be rotated based on the time of year.

First-hand knowledge about farming or teaching is not required.  The Board is just looking for creative, ambitious individuals who are willing to be involved in creating this new educational aspect of the Farm Friends Barn mission.

It is anticipated that the members of the Education Committee will meet once a month initially  and once the various displays and ideas are developed, less meetings will be needed.  Members will determine the object of the display, the desired outcome, and then lead the effort to construct the display.  Interested parties are invited to send an email or mail a letter of interest and qualifications to Jean Johnson, email: or mail to Farm Friends Barn P.O. Box 675 Becker MN  55308.  For questions or a tour of the barn, please. contact her at (320) 248-2615. The letter/email of interest should state why you’d want to become a member of the committee, contact information as well as one’s strengths, why one would want to be a part of this committee along with a few ideas of what one may envision this to be.

The positions are open until filled, and the board will review all letters at its October 23 board meeting.  Choices will be determined by October 31 of 2023.
