Diercks selected as BHS’s ExCel Award winner!

The ExCel Award represents Excellence in Community, Education, and Leadership. It is a unique recognition program designed exclusively for Minnesota high school juniors who are active in school activities, who show leadership qualities, and who work voluntarily in their community.

Olivia Diercks has been a member and leader of the girl’s soccer team since entering high school. She lettered as a freshman and she has received the Spotlight on Scholarship award the past two years. Olivia has also been a member of the National Honor Society the past two years serving as secretary this year.

She has been involved in a number of community and church activities with one of her more meaningful experiences working in a homeless shelter, a nature center, and local school in Billings, Montana this past summer.

Olivia’s application has been submitted as a nomination to the Minnesota State High School League and the State ExCEL Award recipients will be selected by an independent panel of judges from schools throughout Minnesota. State ExCel Award recipients will be announced via the League website on Feb. 4, 2025 with each recipient being recognized on 45TV during the broadcast of the 2025 winter tournaments and at an on-court awards ceremony during the Class AA Championship game of the Girls Basketball State Tournament in March.

Again, congratulations to Olivia on being selected as the Becker High School ExCel Award recipient for 2024-25.
