Daisy Kent: Becker’s illustrious dignitary

Daisy Kent, fresh off the celebrity status she received for being on the TV Show, The Bachelor, bounced into town a week or so ago to have a book signing at Dueling Brews in Becker.

From there, she returned to her adopted home of San Diego and was honored with throwing out the first pitch at a recent San Diego Padres game in front of a packed stadium.

Since her visibility on national television, Daisy has been seen on her social media accounts as attending gatherings, premieres and making special appearances as her popularity continues to soar.

At the book signing on June 2, people lined up into the parking lot of Dueling Brews and The Brewtique to get a chance to purchase Daisy’s book, “Daisy Doo, All the Sounds She Knew” and get it autographed by the social media star. Daisy also posed for photographs with all her fans both big and small.

All proceeds from the book sales go to her nonprofit organization, Hear Your Heart, committed to empowering children to embrace their unique selves. The organization contributes to funding hearing loss research and offers financial assistance to those who are equipped with hearing devices.

For all who know Daisy know she herself has had hearing loss and now wears a cochlear implant.

So, what’s next for Daisy? Well today (Saturday) she is back in Minnesota and will be the Grand Marshall during Becker’s Freedom Days parade!
