CWFD to Hold Fundraiser for Life-Saving Equipment

There will be fun for everyone during the Clearwater Fire Dept.’s upcoming Motorcycle & Car Run fundraiser on Oct. 8, including a spaghetti dinner, silent auction, and live music.

Hosted by the Clearwater Post 323 Sons of the American Legion, the Run begins at the Clearwater Legion, with kickstands going up at 11 a.m. Stops will be held at Up the Creek, Bedrock, and Son of a Butcher, with giveaways at all three locations.

The remainder of the day’s events will all be taking place at the Clearwater Legion, starting with the spaghetti dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. The silent auction will end at 6:30 p.m., followed by live music from 7 to 10 p.m.

The fundraiser is being held to raise money for new SCBAs (self-contained breathing apparatus) the department needs, which are the life-saving air packs firefighters wear into fires in order to breathe clean air. With their current SCBAs nearing the end of their useful life, the department was aware the time to purchase new ones was fast approaching, however, with inflation they’re facing a budget shortfall.
