The Clearwater Township Board of Supervisors opened 2018 with their organizational meeting Wednesday evening.
The board elected Supervisor Bill Langenbacher as chair and Rose Thelen as vice-chair. Scott Miller was the chair in 2017.
They designated the Citizen-Tribune as the newspaper to post public notices, as well as the township hall bulletin board and the township’s website.
Monthly meetings will continue to be the second Monday each month. The board agreed to hold the October meeting on the second Monday also, even though it has been designated as Columbus Day. Town Clerk Jean Just said the town board had the choice to keep it the same or move it to a different date.
The board also set wages for town personnel. Supervisors will continue to get $60 per meeting for the first four hours and $15 per hour after that. Their monthly wage will increase from $100 to $125.
The board chair will continue to get $150 per month, plus the same meeting pay as the other supervisors.
The wage for the treasurer’s position will remain at $60 per meeting and $900 a year.
Hourly wages for the clerk ($21.50), deputy clerk ($19.30), maintenance supervisor ($35.35) and town hall maintenance worker ($19.30) were each increased two percent.
Election judges’ wages remain at $15 per hour, with the head judge still at $20 per hour.
The board agreed to keep its current law firm, Couri & Ruppe.
The next regular monthly meeting is Monday.
