Sherburne County Court Administration staff have earned an award for team excellence.  To be considered for the award, the team must have produced results that are clearly superior as demonstrated by completion of a significant project and promoting teamwork and commitment to excellence.  The successful nomination process included the following narrative: 

 

“Sherburne County Court Administration employees demonstrate strong teamwork and commitment to excellence on a regular and consistent basis. Sherburne County Court moved into a new Judicial Services building in late June of 2018. The court administration staff worked closely as a team to ensure all aspects of the court system functioned smoothly, in spite of several employees not available due to leaves of absence, experiencing major technical problems in courtrooms and having to navigate a much larger, two-story court space. Also, the court administration staff completed a major records destruction project to become the first court administration office in the State of Minnesota without dedicated space for paper file storage.    

 

At the same time, the Sherburne County court administration team addressed issues with document security quality. The State court system has identified document security as a priority in 2018 and going forward. The employees developed ideas for training that targeted specific document security categories that were problematic. Working tools (i.e. cheat sheets, a stoplight report to show overall performance) were also created to assist staff with document security work. Sherburne County has become top in the District in document security accuracy.  

 

The Tenth Judicial District has conducted several internal and external surveys to measure court performance for the eight counties in the District. In spite of the many challenges and adversity experienced by Sherburne court administration, survey results were extraordinary. (An example of some of the feedback includes statements such as, “The Sherburne County Court Administration office could serve as a model for other county courts in the Tenth district as well as across the state. The business of the court is carried out with competence, professionalism and in the best interests of the citizens of Sherburne County.”)
