County Fair is delightful

Last weekend, the Sherburne County Fair returned to the Elk River fairgrounds, to the delight of hundreds of patrons. There was a range of activities and shows to provide fun for audiences of all ages.

Carnival rides and fair foods were available. Alcoholic beverages were served at the always-popular beer garden.

There was a full schedule of shows as well. Beginning on Thursday, there were strong man and magic shows on the free stage. The grandstand hosted ticketed events such as the demolition derby and bull riding.

Saturday featured the parade, talent show, the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show, and a concert with popular band Six to Midnight.

Sunday featured a one man band and a hypnotist to amuse the crowds.

As always, the Sherburne County 4-H students put together an amazing showing, displaying their efforts in arts, science, and animal husbandry. Students showed off swine, goats, horses, and other animals, as well as their projects from the past year.
