In last week’s coverage of the pricing for the Becker Community Center and Pebble Creek’s services, an error was identified in the last paragraph.
According to the city’s finance director, the costs annually for the community center were broken down monthly, but only the annual amount for the golf course was mentioned. The following is the correct information from Finance Director Connie Robinson:
“For $225,000 levied to the golf course, that equals 1.3% of the tax capacity rate. That would be multiplied to the tax capacity of a home valued at $200,000, which is $1,808. Doing the math, $1,808 multiplied by 1.3% equals $23.50 per year or $1.96 per month.
For the BCC, $559,438 was levied for operations and that equals 3.2% of the tax capacity rate. The math would be $1,808 multiplied by 3.2% to give you $57.86 per year, or $4.82 per month for a home valued at $200,000.”
The Citizen-Tribune expresses regret for the mis-information.
