Over 40 exhibitors and hundreds of patrons descended upon Big Lake High School for the Big Lake Chamber’s annual Community Fair last Saturday morning.
Entertainment was provided by BLHS Chamber Choir, Treble Choir, Jazz Band and Poetry Out Loud students, Evolution Tae Kwon Do and Starz Dance.
Vendors associated with the Farmer’s Market had to set up inside the building this year as early morning rainfall and cool temperatures disrupted the event. The event was free and the Chamber gave away six bicycles and three scooter/skateboard combos.
Coborn’s gave away free food samples and a huge line formed in front of the Liberty Bank booth where they were giving away free coolers while supplies lasted. Robotics students put on a demonstration with their robot and Shrek actors from the school’s current play were in costume and strolled through the gym to spark interest.
Caricatures by William Morgan provided free caricatures to guests who stood in line patiently for their chance to see themselves in cartoon form.
All proceeds from the event were donated to BLHS Volunteerism Scholarships.
Gold and Bike Sponsors of the Fair include Becker Big Lake Ice Association, Custom Doors Sales, Insurance Specialists Team, Liberty Bank & State Farm-Cory Laugen.
