Coborn’s partners with California Walnut Board

Coborn’s, Inc., in partnership with the California Walnut Board, will be promoting heart-smart initiatives during a month-long Eat Heart Smart campaign in February.

American Heart Month, a federally designated event, is an ideal time to remind Americans to focus on their hearts and encourage them to get their families, friends and communities involved.  Dietitians from Coborn’s Inc. will be promoting healthy heart activities for both guests and employees.

Programs planned include a Wear Red Day Feb. 5 by staff promoting American Heart Month.  Store locations will promote American Heart Month by offering guests heart smart food displays featuring walnuts, whole grain products, lower sodium sauces and 100 percent fruit cups.

Program elements sponsored by the California Walnut Board include radio, television, and digital advertisements; E-commerce promotions, in-store audio ads, shelf signage, header cards, as well as recipes, retail circulars, videos and content for social media, and circular dietitian tips. Coborn’s thanks the California Walnut Board for their partnership in their support to publicize heart health and promote the American Heart Association.

“Although our dietitians promote heart-healthy foods all year long, February, also American Heart Month, is a time to really highlight and bring attention to simple lifestyle changes such as what we eat that can help prevent heart disease,” said Emily Parent, Registered Dietitian at Coborn’s.  “Our ‘Dietitian’s Choice’ shelf-tag program calls out all better-for-you foods that our team of registered dietitians recommend; all of which are lower in added sugar, have fiber and are lower in sodium—which we know are great for those looking to choose foods that are heart-healthy.”

Heart disease can lead to heart attack, stroke, heart failure and death.  Coborn’s maintains its commitment to being guest focused by providing quality customer service through heart-healthy products and education.  Providing resources to drive a strong commitment to wellbeing for both guests and employees remains a priority at Coborn’s.
