CLFD honors retiring and current firefighters

Clear Lake City held a special event last weekend at Jack & Jim’s in Duelm, honoring 15 retirees, the firefighter of the year and a special tribute to an exceptional firefighter who passed away last year.

Firefighter Logan Draack was awarded with the 2023’s firefighter of the year award and was presnted a trophy.

Kevin and Jill Lietha retired from the CLFD with 20 years of service each and were presented with a large plaque.

Retiree Regan Johnson was presented with a large plaque and flowers.

Clear Lake Fire Departments Assistant Chief Craig Miller, who died of cancer in 2023, was also honored last weekend.

Other retirees and those honored were: Tom Hentges, Gary Hemmelgarn, Steve Schrader, Troy Goenner, James Kirchenbauer, Gary Kiffmeyer, George Kiffmeyer, Charlie Gammon, Regan Johnson, Jill Lietha, Wayne Marklowitz, Kevin Lietha, Joe Hemmer, Rich Thorston and Kiel Golly.
