Clearwater is seeking applicants for the Miss Clearwater Pageant to be held during the Heritage Day celebration.
Applications are available now for three different age groups; Little Miss (age 5-9), Junior Miss (10-15) and Senior Miss Clearwater (16-18).
Candidates must be a resident of Clearwater, or have a Clearwater phone number, or live in one of the following townships: Clearwater Township, Clear Lake Township, Lynden Township.
Weds., Aug. 3, all registered girls and a parent will attend an ice cream social where the judging process starts. Fri., Aug. 5, those same girls will participate in the Clearwater Parade and sit on a float. The coronation ceremony will follow.
Once candidates are officially registered, all entrants will be provided additional information regarding those events.
Girls interested in running for the title of Miss Clearwater (16-18) are asked to provide a 250-word essay about themself and why you should be crowned Miss Clearwater at the time of judging time Aug. 3.
Only the first 10 girls per category will be candidates. Applications can be found online on the city’s website, www.clearwatercity.com, or at Clearwater City Hall or Annandale State Bank. Applications should be returned to Clearwater City Hall by July 20.
Application fee is $15.
In addition to Heritage Days activities, crowned winners will attend the following events: Kimball Parade in August; a Fall 2016 Clearwater City Council meeting; Anoka Parade in October; St. Cloud Winter Night Lights Parade in December; Maple Lake Parade; Winter Awareness Day; Clearwater Fire Dept. Auxiliary Easter Egg Hunt; 2017 Sauk Rapids Parade; Monticello Riverfest 2017; Royalty Ice Cream Social and Coronation in 2017.
