Clearview’s Got Talent!

Clearview Elementary is full of talented students, and many of them took to the stage Wednesday for the school’s annual variety talent show.

Thirty-nine individual and group performances were enjoyed by students, teachers and parents, which included everything from piano and voice solos to skits and dance numbers.

The show kicked off with Profesora Bonyin’s kindergarten class singing and dancing to Moviendo Las Caderas (Moving the Hips) dressed in brightly colored spring outfits.

A number of students revealed their talent with musical instruments, including eight piano solos, a violin duo, a brass duo, a flute duo, an electric guitar solo, a xylophone and recorders.

There were also many vocal performances, which included Mrs. Johnson’s first grade class singing It’s a Wonderful World, Ella, Alayna and Andrea singing The Three Little Bears, Noelle, Abigail and Emily with Tomorrow, Zoe, Ava, Caitlyn, Cora and Alaina singing Down, Down Baby, three solos, a rap number, and Grace, who whistled America the Beautiful.

The audience enjoyed the gymnastics moves of Georgia and Natalie and 12 dance numbers, including Profesora Rosio’s and Profesora Gina’s third grade classes, two tap dances, modern dances, an anti-bullying dance, and Frida and Camila in traditional dress dancing the La Bruja, a Mexican folk dance.
Two skits were created and performed, with Tanner, Alaina, Claudia and Lily using a recorder in theirs, and Abby, Olivia, Grace, Kyla, Morgan and Joani teaching students the importance of doing their homework.

The show’s finale featured Nicolas, accompanied by his father on guitar, singing an outstanding rendition of One Call Away, which concluded with enthusiastic clapping and cheers from the audience.

The Clearview student council, whose members introduced the acts and helped between performances, hosted the end of the year talent show.
