Artwork from Clearview Elementary School students will be on display at St. Cloud State University’s Vera W. Russell Gallery through May.

 

Located in SCSU’s education building, the Vera W. Russell Gallery is a partnership between St. Cloud Area School District 742 and the SCSU School of Education. Artwork from local schools is exhibited in the gallery bi-annually to recognize the work of young artists and their art teachers, while providing artwork to adorn the halls of the education building.

 

Clearview art teacher Kathy Gerdts-Senger chose artwork to represent the school from regular classroom assignments held throughout the school year.

 

Twenty-one Clearview students currently have art work on display at the Vera W. Russell Art Gallery in the Education Building at Saint Cloud State University. They include Annabelle C., Caitlin K., Andrea G., Dillen A., Addison A., Alayna N., Eleanor P., and Santi C., Alahna I., Tristan T., Peyten R., Tessa S., Weslie S., Billy Joel K., Chase B., Willa S., Salomon S., Silas S., Victoria M., Lincoln O. and Landon O.

 

District 742 students displaying their work and their art teachers were honored at a reception March 24.

 

Vera W. Russell, a 1940 SCSU alumni, was committed to enhancing student and faculty’s educational environment and expanding university and school partnerships. An educator for over 40 years, the gallery is her legacy at SCSU.
