Clearview Shows Its Talent

Students at Clearview Elementary showed an amazing variety of talent and creativity at the school’s annual end-of-the-year variety talent show last Friday afternoon, with 39 performances featuring everything from skits to solos.

The event kicked off with Profesora Bronyin’s kindergarten class singing Mother’s Day Song in Spanish, with the students holding paper hearts to help express their love. Profesora Terri’s class also sang a song in Spanish, El Carbonero, for the audience.

Thirteen other acts featured vocal talent, including Rhyan and Luke singing The Canoe Song, Amanda soloing with I Wouldn’t Mind, Jasmine, Andrea and Isabella singing acapella with The Cup Song, and Arabella with Live Like a Warrior. Music teacher Mrs. Ingeman accompanied Grace and Alayna’s duet Dreams of Harmony on the piano, and Dillen and Cora with Our Song.

There were eight piano numbers, including brothers Andres and Amado’s duet Mysterious Magician, Ben playing The Harpsichord Player and Kai with Jazz Blast.

Percussion instruments, guitar, cello, trumpet and saxophones were also featured acts during the show.

A number of students showed off their dance moves, which included tap dancing, jazz and modern dance. Claire and Madden danced to Time, a ballet number, and Henry and Oliver performed a breakdance to Doubt.

There was loud applause for the magic tricks performed by Lily and Reese, and for two original skits. Blake, Cole and Ian attempted to solve Rubik’s Cubes while the Mission Impossible theme song played.

Parents also participated, as Amado and his mother played The Circus Ringmaster together on the piano, and Ayla and Nicolas each sang a song while accompanied by their fathers.

The show concluded with staff that will be moving to other schools next year due to Clearview becoming a K-5 school called up to be recognized and thanked for their contributions to the Clearview community.

The Clearview student council hosted the event, and members introduced the acts and helped out between performances.
