A man died in a Clear Lake farm accident Monday evening.
The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office reported that 61-year-old Brad Braun was pinned underneath a tractor after it flipped when he was moving large round hay bales. The accident happened at 8523 State St., according to the sheriff’s office.
The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office, Becker Police Dept. and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the 5:18 p.m. call. Braun was pronounced dead at the scene.
Braun was farming alone and was discovered by his father.
Braun was born Aug. 11, 1953 in Emmetsburg, IA to Donald and Ramona (Juenemann) Braun. He was a 1971 graduate of St. Cloud Cathedral High School.
Brad was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War.
He married Paula J. Barber Aug. 9, 1975 at St. Marcus Catholic Church. Brad was employed by the Minnesota Correctional Facility, St. Cloud for 25 years retiring as a sergeant Aug. 8, 2008. He owned and operated his own farrier business since 1987. He was a member of St. Marcus Parish and a life member of the St. Cloud East Side Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4847 and the Clear Lake American Legion #354.
