At their meeting Tuesday night, the Clear Lake Twp. Board discussed the fire fill station project that will be built on Co. Road 8. NextEra Energy Resources is leasing the property, which has an existing well and irrigation system, and is allowing a fill station to be created there for use by Clear Lake and other fire departments.
Supervisor Gary Gray informed the board the easement agreement on the adjacent Imholte property, where the actual fill station will be constructed, has been drafted and approved by all parties involved. He will be meeting with Imholtes and the fire department to get the document signed and then notarized.
“I’m assuming they’ll have a training session with area fire departments once it’s been constructed,” said Gray. “There’s not a lot of these [fill stations] around so it could get used substantially.”
Twp. Engineer Terrance Vander Eyk presented an engineer’s estimate to the board for the project for $15,966; the township will be going out for bids once everything has been approved by the county.

An open house for the new township hall project will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Jan. 29 at the old township hall. Refreshments will be served and maps and blueprints will be available for residents to view. The township board and architect will be on hand to answer questions.
