Clearwater was full of Christmas cheer last weekend, with a number of events around town for residents to get their shopping done.
Saturday saw craft and bake sales at two area churches, St. Luke’s Catholic Church and Rejoice Lutheran Church.
The annual Craft and Cookie Stroll was taking place over at St. Luke’s, with attendees able to choose from a large variety of homemade cookies, candies and crafts donated by parishioners for the event.
Attendees could also watch demonstrations of how lefse and krumkake cookies are made along with trying the tasty treats for themselves before purchasing. Melyssa Sakry and Joy Gardner worked together to roll and cook the lefse, while Evie Peterson made and rolled the krumkake.
The money raised from St. Luke’s Craft and Cookie Stroll is used for youth and adult faith formation.
At Rejoice, Sunday school students hosted their annual European Christmas Coffee and Bake Sale.
Dressed in their best, students meandered around the tables serving guests Scandinavian and Christmas goodies, while older youth provided entertainment with instrumental Christmas carols. Guests could also purchase homemade treats and crafts donated by members of the congregation.
All money raised from the event is used for Rejoice youth.
In coordination with the Clearwater Legion Riders made-to-order breakfast, Sunday saw the ninth annual Clearwater Christmas Central taking place in the back room of the Clearwater Legion.
Tables full of merchandise filled the area with numerous crafters and other vendors on hand to offer attendees unique gift options for family and friends.
All proceeds from the rental of table spaces is used to help local veterans.
