The annual Big Lake Block Party at McPete’s was, once again, a success. Despite the overcast skies last Saturday, families came out to enjoy the games, music, and fun provided by organizations from around the community.
Some of the fun things available included:
• A dunk tank where local officials sat;
• The opportunity for kids to climb in police and firefighter vehicles;
• A DJ playing dance-worthy music;
• Games and prizes sponsored by local businesses.
“We’re excited!” said chamber of commerce director, Gloria Vande Brake, at the beginning of the day when families first began to arrive. “We hope people have a good time.”
